Salsera.com
More Than Dance. A Community.
Connecting dancers, celebrating salsa, and keeping the rhythm alive.
Salsa is more than music and movement. It's a connection between people, cultures, and generations. It's the excitement of discovering your first dance step, the friendships formed on the dance floor, and the unforgettable energy of a night filled with music.
Welcome to Salsera.com, where our passion for salsa meets our commitment to the community.
Our Story
Rooted in Salsa. Inspired by Community.
Salsera.com was born from a simple belief: the salsa community deserves a place to call its own.
For years, we've watched salsa bring people together—through dance classes, social gatherings, performances, festivals, and unforgettable nights on the dance floor.
Our journey has taken us from teaching dance classes and performing on stage to producing live theatrical dance concerts and creating television programming dedicated to salsa.
Today, we're bringing that same passion into the digital world.
We are building Salsera.com to connect dancers with the people, places, and experiences that make salsa special.
Starting in Southern California, our vision is to grow into a nationwide destination for salsa enthusiasts, instructors, event organizers, and dance communities.
Because wherever there's salsa, there's a community worth celebrating.
The People Behind Salsera.com
Together, Alma and Jae Dee share a simple mission: to celebrate the past, support the present, and help shape the future of salsa.
Alma Frey
A Life Dedicated to Salsa
Alma Frey has been part of Southern California's salsa dance history for decades.
From her involvement with the original Salsa Brava dance company to her contributions as a performer, instructor, and promoter, Alma has helped introduce countless people to the excitement and beauty of salsa dancing.
Her work in Orange County helped nurture a growing salsa community, creating opportunities for dancers to learn, perform, and connect.
Through Alma y Sabor Dance Company, she continues sharing her experience, knowledge, and love for salsa with new generations of dancers.
For Alma, salsa has always been about more than steps and choreography. It's about music, expression, connection, and the joy of dancing.
Jae Dee
Bringing Salsa to the Stage, Screen, and Beyond
Jae Dee brings a unique combination of dance, media production, and technology to Salsera.com.
As a salsa instructor and co-founder of Salsera Dance Academy, he has spent years sharing his passion for dance alongside Alma.
Together, they produced The Beat of the Night, a theatrical salsa dance concert at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center in 2001 and 2002, bringing celebrated dance companies together for an evening of choreographed performances.
Their passion for showcasing the salsa community continued with Salsa Dance L.A., a public-access television program launched around 2003.
Today, Jae Dee brings that same creative energy to developing Salsera.com as a digital destination for the salsa community.
Our Vision
Connecting Dancers. Supporting the Scene.
That's why we're creating a central destination where the salsa community can come together.
We believe finding a place to dance, discovering a great instructor, or learning about an upcoming salsa event should be simple.
Our vision includes:
Discovering salsa events: Find clubs, socials, festivals, and community dance nights.
Supporting instructors and organizers: Help dancers discover the people who keep the salsa scene thriving.
Celebrating salsa history: Preserve the stories, performances, and contributions that shaped our dance community.
Bringing dancers together: Connect beginners, experienced dancers, and everyone in between.
Growing beyond Southern California: Build a nationwide network that celebrates salsa wherever it's danced.
